Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy centers on cultivating inclusive, engaging, and reflective learning environments that empower students to think critically and apply knowledge beyond the classroom. I strive to create a psychologically safe space, in-person and online, where students feel seen, respected, and motivated to challenge themselves. Drawing on interdisciplinary frameworks and evidence-based pedagogy, I integrate active learning, real-world case analysis, and project-based assessments to bridge theory and practice.

A key component of my approach involves actively engaging community and industry leaders as guest speakers and project collaborators. These partnerships enrich classroom learning by providing students with diverse, real-world perspectives and opportunities to apply course concepts to live business, legal, and organizational challenges. Whether in service marketing, organizational behavior, or business law, I aim to create transformative learning experiences that foster ethical awareness, cultural fluency, and the confidence to lead in complex, diverse environments.

  • Mentored CoBA first-generation students on a volunteer basis, providing academic, career, and leadership guidance. Mentees achieved notable success, including admission to competitive graduate programs and selection to present research at the 2024 CSUSM Student Poster Showcase.
  • Served as an attorney mentor in the Pre-Law Society’s Big and Little Lawyers Mentoring Program, supporting aspiring law students through one-on-one advising, law school preparation, and professional development grounded in legal and interdisciplinary insights.
